If you are a foodie or a food network junkie (like me!) You already know all about Chopped!

If you aren’t or you don’t, let me take a moment to tell you about it (and yes, I WILL tie this to Juvenile Arthritis!)

Chopped!  Is a reality-type cooking show hosted by Ted Allen which pits 4 chefs against each other to compete for a ten thousand dollar prize. To make things more interesting, the chefs must create their masterpieces with baskets of mystery ingredients, on limited time. Each round includes one course, an appetizer, main course and dessert.  It’s a fun show to watch, fast paced and full of surprises. You never know what the competitors will come up with, or how the panel of judges will react.

We are Chopped! fans in our home, so we didn’t need to be encouraged to check it out or watch, we were doing it anyway. BUT we found something out about Chopped! just yesterday that made us even bigger fans.

Here is the big news:

On Tuesday, December 3rd at 10pm/9pm central, the Food Network will air a very special Chopped! : a celebrity holiday bash episode featuring Teri Hatcher (Desperate Housewives.) Even more exciting? The celebrities are competing for a charity of their choice, and Ms. Hatcher has chosen the Juvenile Arthritis Association!

Teri Hatcher has been a great friend to those of us who struggle with pediatric rheumatic disease. In April of 2013, she hosted a celebrity yard sale in Glendale, California bringing more attention to the cause and raising much-needed funds for research. Now, with a nationally televised platform, she is bringing Juvenile Arthritis and Pediatric Rheumatic Disease front and center. She is helping us to provide the exposure and awareness that we have been desperate to obtain.

Can you say excited? I know we are!

On Tuesday, December 3rd, we will be parked in front of our tv, cheering on our JA hero, Teri Hatcher, competing for the JAA. I hope that you can take time out of your busy holiday schedules to do the same. At minimum, I hope that you might take time to stop by to stop by her Facebook fan page, like it, comment and say thank you. Send a quick email to the Food Network to let them know you want more shows like this.  Visit the Juvenile Arthritis Association site , and use their link to post, pin, tweet and share this event so that we can increase awareness for our cause and support the food network (and Teri!) in their charitable endeavors.

If you weren’t a fan of Chopped! or Teri Hatcher before, you might become one now.
