Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving from my family to yours. This will be a short post, as I want to take the opportunity to spend time with my own family for the holiday, but I had to wish my JA family and community a wonderful day too.

Even if you have a few issues with the history of the holiday (everything has a bit of controversy) or if you are not an American who normally celebrates this holiday today, I encourage you to still stop, pause, and give thanks for the many wonderful things in your life.

We all have challenges, trials and issues. It’e easy to dwell on those things and let ourselves drift into the habit of thinking negatively, but days like today are here to remind us that we should give THANKS for what we do have, and the blessings we have been given.

I am thankful that you all take time to read my blog, and join us on this JA Journey. I’m thankful that my kids are well enough to be home and not in a hospital for the holiday. I’m grateful  that we have a warm house to share, and food to put in our bellies on this traditional day of feasting. I’m thankful for the fun and football, and even more importantly, for all of the people who sacrifice THEIR holiday working to make ours better and safer (yes! That’s a shoutout to all the firefighters, EMTS, police, and essential services providers!)

I hope you take time today to enjoy the food, fellowship and family if you celebrate this holiday, and if you don’t, that you still have a wonderful day, full of  many things that you can be thankful for.

Happy Holidays.
