Jingle My Bells

Jingle My Bells!

I’m not talking about the K-mart/Joe Boxer commercial, although I am hoping that having that title might score me a few more hits.

this “Jingle My Bells” commercial has sparked controversy. Our team? Not so much.

By the time you guys read this I will be running (or limping) through the Fox Valley Jingle Bell Run, with my team- Jingle My Bells. We all met our fundraising goal (yay!) so now its all about having a fun time.

My younger son and I will actually be running with a few friends, but my older son is not completely recovered from his last big flare. Starting new medications has been helping, but not enough to run 3 miles in the cold we are expecting tomorrow.

That’s ok. I always talk about how life is what you make of it, and he is embracing that philosophy.

This particular run has an indoor component and expo, where he will sit with our Arthritis Foundation rep (and a friend) ready to tell you everything you need to know about being a kid with JA, being an Arthritis Ambassador, or anything else you would like to know (if you show up to the Love’s Park event anyway!) He may not be able to run, but he can still play a role. I’m proud of him for wanting to do it. This is HIS disease, and its important that he take an active role in raising awareness and funds for research.

So today, while you are warm and cozy, think of us, taking off at 5 am to go jingle our bells. Hopefully we will make enough of a ruckus for people to take notice.
